Start With the Ball. Build the Player.
At Own Touch, we believe that strong technical foundations are essential to long-term player development.
What Is This Assessment?
Our Technical Assessment is designed to give families a clearer understanding of where their child is today, while helping identify the technical areas that may need more attention moving forward.
This is not a tryout. It is an individual evaluation session focused on understanding the player's current technical ability, strengths, and areas for continued development.
Each player will go through a structured technical session led by an Own Touch coach. The assessment allows us to observe how the player performs across several key technical areas while also paying attention to movement, confidence, coordination, and overall comfort with the ball.
Our goal is not simply to assign a score. It is to provide meaningful feedback and help families better understand the player's current development needs.
What We Evaluate
During the assessment, players will be evaluated in key technical areas including:
- Ball Mastery
- Dribbling
- Passing & Receiving
- Juggling
- Shooting & Finishing
The assessment focuses on the quality, control, consistency, and execution of each action.
What You Will Receive
Following the assessment, families will have the opportunity to speak directly with our staff. We will:
- Share feedback on the player's current technical development
- Highlight areas of strength
- Identify areas that may need additional attention
- Provide guidance on the most appropriate next steps for continued development
Why This Matters
Every player develops differently.
Understanding where a player is today allows training to become more intentional, helping families make better decisions about what type of environment, repetition, and support may be most beneficial moving forward.
Who Is This For?
This assessment is intended for players who are not currently part of the Own Touch training program.
