Own Touch Soccer 2026-27 Winter High School Training Program

The Own Touch Winter High School Training Program is designed for high school players looking to continue developing during the winter in a competitive, focused, and high-intensity training environment.

Using Stage 3 of the Own Touch Methodology, the program combines advanced technical development, athletic performance, and game-realistic training to help players stay sharp, prepare for upcoming seasons, and continue progressing during the winter months.

Program Overview

At this stage of development, training goes beyond simply performing technical actions. Players are challenged to execute with greater speed, precision, and consistency while adapting to pressure and realistic game situations.

Sessions are designed to reinforce strong technical habits while developing the ability to recognize situations, solve problems, and perform effectively at game speed.

Technical Development

Throughout the program, players will work on:

  • First Touch & Ball Control: Improving the ability to receive and prepare the ball efficiently under pressure.

  • Dribbling: Developing confidence, control, and creativity in 1v1 situations and tight spaces.

  • Passing & Receiving: Improving accuracy, timing, body positioning, and execution at higher speeds.

  • Shooting & Finishing: Developing striking technique, composure, and efficiency around goal.

  • Decision Making: Recognizing situations quickly and selecting the appropriate technical action.

  • Speed, Agility & Coordination: Developing movement quality, quickness, and explosiveness to support performance on the field.

Game-Relevant Training

Technical work is connected to realistic situations players will experience in competitive matches.

Training exercises progressively introduce pressure, space limitations, opponents, and decision-making demands, helping players transfer technical execution into the game.

Session Format

Each 90-minute session includes:

  • 30 minutes – Speed & Agility

Focused on movement quality, quickness, coordination, acceleration, and overall athletic performance.

  • 45 minutes – Technical Training

Players work through technical areas such as ball control, dribbling, passing & receiving, and shooting & finishing, with an emphasis on execution under pressure.

  • 15 minutes – Small-Sided Games / Scrimmage

Players finish the session in competitive game environments designed to reinforce the technical concepts developed throughout training.
